James Robert Nuckols
James Robert Nuckols, age 62 , of Samantha, Alabama passed away November 27, 2017 at his home. Services will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday November 29, 2017 at New Hope Baptist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Magnolia Chapel North is directing. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

He is preceded in death by his father, Edmond Nuckols; grandparents, Ben and Bessie Nuckols, Burton and Adella Weaver.

Survivors include his mother, Rena Muriel Nuckols and his aunt Naomi Weaver.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Nuckols, Bryan Hughes, Barry Hughes, John Walker IV, Kyle Sudduth, Tim Long, Floyd Hughes, Loy Lunceford, and Steve Smith.

Honorary pallbearers are Tuscaloosa Farmers Federation, Tuscaloosa Co-op, friends and neighbors of the Samantha community, Lewis-Faye Manderson Cancer Center, and Alabama Hospice Care.
Special friends include caregivers; Ashley, Donna Faye, Bryan and Beverly Hughes, Bill and Sheila Rice, Kim Rice, Missy Gilliam, Steve Smith, and many other friends from New Hope Baptist Church.

Robert was the 2012 Farmer of the Year, and all who knew and loved him knew how much he loved farming. He was on the Board of Directors for both the Tuscaloosa Farmers Federation and the Tuscaloosa Co-op. Robert was faithful to New Hope Church as long as possible; he loved his church family and friends. One very special friend and main caregiver throughout it all was Mrs. Beverly Hughes with the loving support of her husband, Bryan Hughes. Beverly helped Robert have the best quality of life possible until the very end, and his family will be forever grateful to her.

Robert Nuckols will be remembered for his love of farming, his strong determination, and he will be greatly missed by family and friends.
