Obituary for Robert Landers Palmer

Robert Landers Palmer
Robert Landers Palmer
NORTHPORT – Robert Landers Palmer, age 70, of Northport, Ala., died July 10, 2017, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 13, 2017, at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North with Rev. Dan Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Williamson Cemetery in Northport with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rosalyn Landers Palmer and William Neil Palmer, Sr.; son, Jeremy Blake Palmer; sisters, Jeanette Palmer Guglielmo and Sarah Palmer Sutton; and brother, William Neil "Billy" Palmer, Jr.
Survivors include his daughter, Cortney Palmer Patton (Drew); sisters, Barbara Palmer Boyd and Rosemary Palmer Cabaniss; and granddaughter, Blakley Scott Palmer.
Robert was a graduate of Tuscaloosa County High School and the University of Alabama.
His greatest love was that for his children, Jeremy and Cortney. They were his pride and joy. He loved bragging on them with others. He was so happy when he was blessed with a precious granddaughter, Blakely Scott Palmer. He loved his son-in-law, Drew, and was glad that he and Cortney were always there for him.
Robert treasured his family, especially his siblings and nieces and nephews. He never met a stranger. His outgoing personality and kindness allowed him to have many lifelong friends that he valued along with his family. He was "Big Daddy" to us all.
His boisterous laugh and kind smile put people at ease. This trait made him a unique and compassionate friend and neighbor. He loved growing up and sharing life with his brother and sisters and their families.
Robert was a successful businessman. His career included managing director of the Supply Store at the University of Alabama. He was proud of his accomplishments there and especially enjoyed his relationship with his coworkers, employees and vendors.
He has gone to be with the Lord in Heaven and is reunited with his loved ones. We mourn his passing but cherish our time with him and the wonderful memories he leaves with us.
Pallbearers will be Drew Patton, David Glasgow, Tony Gregg, David Boyd, Steve Crawford, Tim Crawford, Sr., Jeff Cabaniss and Rodney Cabaniss.
Honorary pallbearers are Bob Palmer and Bryant Palmer.
