Curtis was born in Weatherford, Oklahoma. He moved with his family to Brownville, Alabama as a child and spent many years farming the family land. He was a proud American and served in the US Navy during the Korean War. Following his time in the service he moved to Pontiac, Michigan and worked for General Motors until retirement. He married Joan LaClair Watson and together they raised 2 daughters and celebrated over 50 years of marriage. Following his retirement they moved to Northport, Alabama and built a home on his family land which was very dear to him. He spent many years coon hunting as a hobby. He enjoyed the sport and made lifelong friendships along the way. Most dear to his heart was his service to others. He enjoyed farming his land and sharing the fruits of his labor with friends and relatives. He was a long-time member of Phillips Chapel. We are thankful for the lives he touched, including our own and will miss him dearly.

In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Phillips Chapel or Hospice of West Alabama.

The family would like to thank those who helped provide care and love over the last few years and especially extend their love and indebted gratitude to Kenny Traweek.
