MOUNDVILLE / Dorothy Marie Adams, age 77 died January 31, 2017. Services will be held on Saturday February 4, 2017 at Moundville Methodist Church, Moundville, AL at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Bill Curtin offitiating and Magnolia Chapel South directing. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at the church.

She is preceded in death by Lloyd Gibbs, oldest brother and his wife Barbara; William Gibbs, brother; Rusty Gibbs, brother; Edward Gibbs, brother and his wife Annie; Mary Hoffman, sister; her mother and father Edward and Laura Gibbs, and her step-mother Annie Gibbs; and her great-grandsons Calvin Edward Duren and Wyatt Creed Duren.

She is survived by her devoted husband James Michael Adams and children Carla Snow, Lorraine Denise Tindall, Cyndi Schuabert, James Michael Adams, Jr., Jacquelyne Renee McMinn, Jocelyne Rae Moore, Jeremiah David Adams, and Joel Aaron Adams, 21 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Dorothy grew up in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. She never met a stranger and was welcoming to everyone. She was a military wife and a stay-at-home mom, and she volunteered through her church. She was very strong in her faith and her love for the Lord. She enjoyed painting, sewing, and gardening. She adored her grand and great-grand children, and they were the greatest joy in her life. She was wholly devoted to her family, and very proud of her Irish heritage.
