Claude Richard Krout Jr.
Richard Krout (1958 - 2017)
BIRMINGHAM – Richard Krout, age 58, of Birmingham, Ala., went to heaven on January 10, 2017. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2017, at Magnolia Chapel North Funeral Home, 4905 Highway 69 North in Northport, Ala.. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Graveside service will be held immediately following the funeral at Mt. Olive cemetery.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, Claude R. Krout; his sister, Linda Leigh Krout; and uncle, Alvin Essary.
Survivors include his mother, Janice A. Krout; brothers, Bart Krout (Christina) and Todd Krout (Tricia); sisters, Amy Shiew (Steve) and Kay Morris (Howard); nephews, Richard Krout, Kevin Krout, Josh Krout, Michael Shiew, Morgan Shiew, Mitchell Shiew, Matt Shiew and Patrick Morris; nieces, Katie Krout, Joy Krout, and Kristen Morris; and aunt, Jane Essary.
Richard was born February 18, 1958 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He was a graduate of The University of Alabama-Birmingham and a loyal fan of the UAB Blazers basketball and football teams.
Richard worked at BlueCross BlueShield of Alabama. His faith in the Lord Jesus Christ was the most important thing in his life. Faith, Family and Friends were the top priorities for him. He loved hunting, fishing, basketball and spending time with his nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Mount Olive Baptist Church (13303 Mt. Olive Road, Coker, AL 35452) or UAB Basketball or Football program (http://www.uabsports.com/boosters/sport-gift-accounts.html).
Richard was loved dearly by his family and friends.
